Smart devices

Viewers set off real things in your room. A water gun on a tip, a tube man on a raid, a flashbang on a redeem. A smart plug powers a gadget for a few seconds. A bulb or a strip changes color, flashes or strobes. A board you built, like an ESP32 or a Raspberry Pi running your own code, does whatever your code already does. Landmark Desktop does the firing on your PC. Your device addresses stay on your computer, and Landmark never changes anything on a board.

The three steps

Add your device. Open Smart devices inside Landmark Desktop. Pick the one that fits:
- Connect my board for an ESP32 or Pi that already runs your code. Pick the board or type its address, then paste or upload your code, or just say what it does. The helper reads it and lists the commands your code already answers, like "Water gun on" and "Water gun off". Test each one, keep the ones you want, and save.
- Find devices for plugs, bulbs and strips. It looks on your Wi-Fi for Kasa, LIFX, WLED, Shelly and Tasmota devices, and boards running the Landmark sketch.
- Add by URL if you already know your board's address. Paste the address you open in a browser to make it go, like http://192.168.1.40/on, and the one that turns it off if it has one.
Every device has Test. A plug or a light toggles, then toggles back. A board output goes on, then off.
Make a redeem. Press Make a redeem on the device. Pick what it drives and what it does: Turn on, Turn off, Toggle, or On for a few seconds. A light can also Color change, Flashbang or Strobe. A LIFX bulb can also run Police lights (red and blue flashes) and, on your Wi-Fi, Music Reactive (it follows what your PC is playing). A name is filled in for you, and you can type your own. Landmark Coins is on by default with a starting price you can change. Remove it and the redeem fires only from the other ways you add, such as channel points, bits, a follow or a gift. Then press Make redeem.
Let viewers fire it. With Landmark Coins on, it is a Skill on your portal right away, under the Room heading, and viewers can redeem it while Landmark Desktop is running. A tip of exactly that price fires it too. Add more ways on the redeem: bits, gifts, follows, subs, raids, a chat word or channel points, on any platform. A channel point way fires on the reward's title.

Timing

On for a few seconds: Type any time from 0.5 seconds to 10 minutes. A plug powers the gadget for that long, then cuts it.
Switch back after: A light that turns on, off or toggles can switch back on its own after 0.5 seconds to 10 minutes. Leave it blank to stay.
Police lights: Runs 2 to 60 seconds, then the bulb goes back to how it was.
Music Reactive: Runs 5 seconds to 5 minutes, then the bulb goes back to how it was.

A redeem name that states its time, like Water gun for 3s, follows a new time when you change it. A name you wrote yourself stays. Police lights and Music Reactive need Landmark Desktop 0.7.12 or later.

Your own board, left as it is

Your board keeps its code, its wiring and its settings. Landmark adds no firmware and never flashes, resets or reconfigures it. When you connect a board, Landmark reads only its front page, the one you see when you type its address in a browser. It never opens any other address on the board by itself, because on many boards opening an address is what fires them. A command only runs when you press Test or a viewer redeems it.

Each saved command is one fixed request, decided when you save it. Viewers never pick the device and never change the command. They set off exactly what you saved.

Reading your code with the helper uses AI, billed like Landmark's other AI tools, and it runs only when you press it. Pasting a command address yourself uses none.

What works

Your own ESP32 or Raspberry Pi code that answers a web address on your Wi-Fi, by GET or by POST with a body.
ESPHome boards with the web server on, through Connect my board.
Kasa plugs and bulbs on your Wi-Fi. No account needed.
LIFX bulbs on your Wi-Fi. No token needed. Bulbs elsewhere work with a cloud token from cloud.lifx.com/settings. With Landmark Desktop 0.7.14 or later, a bulb on your Wi-Fi that moves to a new address is found again, and Test only says it worked when the bulb confirms.
WLED, Shelly, Tasmota devices on your Wi-Fi.

Gadgets on a plug

A smart plug only knows on and off, which is exactly what a gadget needs: the plug powers it for the seconds you set, then cuts it. A submersible aquarium pump in a bucket with a hose aimed at your chair is a water gun. A mini inflatable tube dancer, a corded leaf blower, a bubble or fog machine, a misting fan, a siren beacon, an electric confetti launcher: anything with a power cord and no on-button of its own. One click sets up the sleep-stream trio on a LIFX bulb: Color change at 200 coins, Flashbang at 1,000, Strobe at 6,000. Open one to add a sound that plays on your overlay when it fires.

How a fire travels

A viewer redeems on your portal, or a platform event matches a way you set. Landmark records the redeem and Landmark Desktop, running on your PC, sees it within a second and sends the saved command to the device. The app has to be open and its Smart Home switch on. Adding your first device turns it on for you. When Landmark Desktop is closed, or it last saw the device offline, that redeem is left out of the Skills menu on your portal, so nobody is charged.

Landmark keeps 20% of the coins or tip that set off a device redeem, the same as other redeems. A plain tip that sets off nothing stays yours.

A device redeem fires only from its own redeem and ways. A redeem from another product with the same name, such as a MineControl Flashbang, never sets off your light's Flashbang.

If it does not fire

Landmark Desktop is not running, or this PC is not connected on the Landmark Desktop page.
The device is not on the same Wi-Fi as the PC. Press Test on its row to check.
A board got a new address after a router restart. Give it a fixed address in your router, then connect it again. A LIFX bulb on your Wi-Fi is found again on its own with Landmark Desktop 0.7.14 or later.
Test works but the board does nothing: the command answered but your code ignored it. Run Connect my board again with your code, or check the address in a browser.
The tip was not exactly the price. Every way fires only at its exact amount. Add a way per amount you want.
The redeem is off. Edit it and tick On.
