Account & security

Everything about how you sign in and keep your account safe lives on the Security page: your login email, password, passkeys, a recovery phone, and controls for booting other devices. Landmark also watches for sign-ins from somewhere new.

Your login email

This is the address you sign in with. To change it, open the Login email card, enter the new address, and confirm your current password. Landmark sends a confirmation link to the new address. Your login only moves once you click it, so a typo or a stolen session can't quietly point your account at an inbox you don't control.

When the change goes through, we also email the old address so you'd notice a change you didn't make. Signing in with a connected platform instead of a password? You can still change the email. The confirm step is what secures it.

Password

Change your password from the Password card; it asks for your current one first. Every change fires an email plus an in-app alert, so an unauthorized change is loud. Forgot it? Use the password reset link. It emails a one-time link that also sets a password on accounts that never had one.

Passkeys

A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN instead of a password. Phishing-resistant, and the key never leaves your device. Add one per device from the Passkeys card; register a couple so a lost device doesn't lock you out.

Recovery phone

Add and verify a phone number for account recovery and security alerts. You enter the number, we send a 6-digit code, and you confirm it. (On a deployment without an SMS provider configured, the code is written to the server log instead of texted. The flow still works for testing.)

Sign out all other devices

On a shared or lost computer, or if you just want a clean slate, use Sign out all other devices in the Recent sign-ins card. It ends every other session immediately and keeps only the one you're using. The fastest way to boot a lingering login without changing your password.

New-device sign-in alerts

A sign-in from a device or location Landmark hasn't seen before triggers an email and an in-app notification. The Recent sign-ins card lists recent devices with when they were last active, so you can spot anything you don't recognize.

Good habits

Use a password manager
Unique passwords everywhere, so one leak can't cascade.
Prefer passkeys or an authenticator app over SMS
A phone number can be lost or SIM-swapped; passkeys can't.
Keep your recovery email and phone current
They're how you get back in if you're locked out.
